Karla Mercedes

Born in the desert and blossoming in the Caribbean, Karla Mercedes (FKA Dance on Glass) is an artist that is multidisciplinary to another level. From fashion design with her slow fashion brand NINI, to theatre, dance and music.

With music in her blood, Karla Mercedes arrives to the mexican Caribbean in 2016, receptive to different music genres and cultural movement of the zone, she found inspiration in the sounds of nature, the colors, the afro caribbean beats. Her music repertoire goes from nu-disco, funk, afro, tropical to house, hip hop, electronica and deep house. The common factor is joyful music that celebrates life and love, music that makes you dance and enjoy.

A great representation of the caribbean scene, Karla Mercedes begins as Fruity Cocktail Bar resident DJ in Tulum, positioning her as the best ally to the queer community in the Yu- catan peninsula.

Karla Mercedes has created mix sets for Beatsand Festival, Touch Night (women dj collective of the Mayan riviera) and a guest in several events and both national and international radio shows (Radio Nopal -CDMX / Boys ́Club – Bristol, UK).

Hungry for creative and artistic projects, she created Karla Mercedes Productions, an audiovisual production and talent management agency and soon in the stage of Bestiario Teatro ́s third season in a leading role.
