STATUS OF WAKANA REUNION 2020 ON COVID-19
Dear Wakana Family,
We, like you, have been waiting with bated breath for developments on COVID-19, wondering whether our 2020 family reunion will take place. We have wished, prayed and hoped to see all of your beautiful smiling faces in May, to hold hands with friends old and new, and dance under the Andalusian sun into the bright starry night. However, it is with great sadness that we inform you that Wakana Reunion 2020 will be postponed until September 18-20, 2020.
With the world in a state of flux, being transformed by an invisible threat and by how we as a society respond to its challenges, it is important for us to think of what matters most. Of the utmost importance to us at WR is the health and safety of all our friends and family as well as the kindred spirits who we are still to welcome because our small gathering would not be the magical celebration it is today without you. But due to the uncertainty surrounding the following months, it would be impossible for us to guarantee your safety. Foolish, too.
We understand that the circumstances or new dates might not be suitable for all so we’re going to do all that is in our power to be fair and just. As such, there will be an opportunity for those unable to attend to receive a refund.
However, Wakana Reunion is a small, family-run festival without any major sponsors and since June last year we have poured all of our efforts into curating the 2020 WR edition. In saying this, we ask you, our family, to empathise and to help support us through this time because hundreds of refunds would be financially unsustainable for us. Hundreds of refunds could even prevent a future Wakana Reunion from ever happening again.
We need you now more than ever and just because you cannot attend our reunion this year, we still consider you family. And our family loves and supports each other. For this reason, we are also making available a series of ticket transfers for future editions of Wakana Reunion as well as other interesting measures for the benefit of all. We will communicate these soon.
If, for whatever reason, you still require a refund, please keep an eye on your inbox as we are currently working through the different refund methods to ensure the most straightforward to use. Once this process has finished, we will notify you with details and directions.
With all that said, we urge you to remain safe, to keep healthy, and to look after those that you can. Most importantly though, please heed the advice of the competent authorities and remember that despite these trying times, we will come out on the other side, dancing by the lake.
